About

Belphegor are an Austrian blackened death metal band from Salzburg, founded in 1991 under the name Betrayer and renamed in 1993. Vocalist and guitarist Helmuth Lehner has been the sole constant member for decades, steering the band through a string of internationally charting albums including Pestapokalypse VI, Conjuring the Dead and The Devils (2022). In 2023 the band received the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the Hard & Heavy category.
