
Banda ¡Carumba!
Banda ¡Carumba! brings an energetic programme of Latin American music and dance to the stage.
Banda ¡Carumba! is an acoustic Latin band from Leiden, founded in late 2020 during the pandemic. The eight-piece ensemble - three percussionists, two brass players, a double bassist, an accordionist and a guitarist/vocalist - plays its own blend of rumba, cumbia, reggae and cubana, mostly in Spanish, Catalan and French. The band regularly fills venues in Leiden and appears at festivals including Oerol and the Zeeheldenfestival in The Hague. Its members bring years of Leiden music history from bands such as TT Togs, Biguine Balade and Les Zazous.
Banda ¡Carumba! performs on July 18, 2026 at Loungefest at the Oosterduinsemeer in Noordwijkerhout.
The band celebrated its fifth anniversary with a sold-out concert at the Wibar in Leiden on March 13, 2026.
Banda ¡Carumba! played a sold-out show on November 29, 2025 in the Kleine Zaal of the Nobel in Leiden, with a setlist of twenty-five songs.
The band released the Dutch-language song 'Viva Drie Oktobros' in September 2024 as a tribute to the Leiden 3 October festival.
