Arthur Jussen (born 28 September 1996 in Hilversum) is a Dutch pianist who, together with his brother Lucas, forms one of the most sought-after piano duos in the world. Growing up in a musical family - their father is a timpanist in the Dutch Radio Philharmonic Orchestra - the brothers were mentored by Portuguese pianist Maria João Pires from 2005 onwards. Arthur studied with Jan Wijn at the Amsterdam Conservatory and has recorded exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon since 2010, building an award-winning discography alongside his brother.
Lucas and Arthur Jussen brought the world premiere of a double concerto by Andrew Norman, specially written for them, with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Susanna Mälkki in April 2026.
The duo made their long-awaited debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker in the Philharmonie Berlin in February 2026, with Mozart's Concerto for two pianos KV 365 under the direction of Michael Sanderling.
In the 2025/2026 season, Lucas and Arthur Jussen are Artists in Residence with the hr-Sinfonieorchester in Frankfurt.
On 2 May 2025, Lucas and Arthur Jussen released the EP Cantus via Deutsche Grammophon, with piano music based on aria and chorale melodies by Bach, Brahms, Febel and Arvo Pärt.
In November 2024, Rêve appeared, the first part of a triptych released by the duo via Deutsche Grammophon, with French impressionist repertoire for two pianos.
