Antal Heitlager is an Amsterdam-based DJ and co-founder of Rush Hour, the record shop, label and distribution company he opened in 1997, which has grown into one of the most respected names in international record culture. His DJ sets move freely between Chicago and Detroit house, rare Afro-funk, forgotten disco and much more - a range he has been exploring on stages across Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas since 1996. Beyond DJing, Rush Hour operates a sub-label (Kindred Spirits), a distribution arm serving labels such as Music From Memory and Soundway Records, and its own in-house magazine.
Antal performed in August 2025 at the Finnish Flow Festival in Helsinki, as part of a busy festival season that also included performances at Lentekabinet, Love International and Dekmantel.
In March 2025, Antal performed a live set from the Rush Hour shop in Amsterdam for The Lot Radio in New York.
In October 2022, Antal produced a two-hour Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1, one of the most prestigious mix shows in the world.
