Dutch writer and poet Anna Enquist performs at Borderkitchen in The Hague.
Anna Enquist is the pen name of Christa Widlund-Broer (Amsterdam, 19 July 1945), one of the most widely read authors in Dutch literature. She studied clinical psychology at Leiden University and piano at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, and worked for years as a psychoanalyst before turning fully to writing. Her debut collection Soldatenliederen (1991) immediately won the C. Buddingh' Prize; novels such as Het meesterstuk (1994) and Contrapunt (2008) brought her a broad international readership. Loss, classical music and the psychology of everyday life run as constant threads through her work.
