Anita Meyer (Rotterdam, 1954) is a Dutch pop singer who broke through in 1976 with 'The Alternative Way', reaching number one in the Dutch charts. In 1981 she became the first Dutch female artist to top the album charts with a solo record, and her single 'Why Tell Me Why' spent six weeks at number one. Alongside her recording career she has performed in major theatre productions, including the role of Grizabella in Cats, and received the NPO Radio 5 Oeuvre Award.
Anita Meyer is confirmed as an artist at the Music Festival of the Year 2026, which will be recorded on December 11 and 12, 2026 at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.
