Amenra is a Belgian post-metal band from Kortrijk, formed in 1999 by vocalist Colin H. van Eeckhout and guitarist Mathieu Vandekerckhove. Built around the Mass album series - records that explore death, pain and spirituality through sludge, doom and post-rock - the band also founded the Church of Ra artist collective in 2005. Their live shows, marked by ritualistic lighting and raw catharsis, are widely regarded as among the most intense in contemporary heavy music.
Amenra released two simultaneous EPs on March 28, 2025 via Relapse Records: 'With Fang and Claw' and 'De Toorn'.
Amenra announced an extensive EU/UK tour in November 2024 for 2025, with shows in the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain and the United Kingdom, among others.
Amenra played a fourth sold-out show at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels in August 2024.
Singer Colin H. van Eeckhout played a role in the Belgian film 'Skunk' and Amenra provided the accompanying film soundtrack.
The album 'De Doorn' (2021) reached third place on the Belgian album chart and position 68 in Germany.
