Ali Safavian is a Dutch-Iranian singer equally at home in classical opera and traditional Persian music. He performs with the Ranaa Choir Ensemble, linked to the Dutch Stichting Ranaa, which keeps Persian culture and music alive in the Netherlands, including through celebrations of the Persian New Year (Nowruz). Safavian previously appeared at the Minimal Music Festival in Amsterdam's Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ alongside pianist Morteza Koroghli and tar player Hamid Alvandi.
The Nowruz celebration of Stichting Ranaa at ZIMIHC was sold out.
Ranaa organized a romantic-nostalgic concert of Iranian music in Amsterdam.
The ensemble performed in a theater hall with nostalgic Persian songs in which east and west come together.
