Alain Johannes (born 1962 in Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean-American multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter who has shaped alternative rock for decades. He co-founded the band Eleven in 1990 with his wife Natasha Shneider and drummer Jack Irons, and went on to collaborate closely with Chris Cornell, Queens of the Stone Age, PJ Harvey, Mark Lanegan and Arctic Monkeys as guitarist, producer and engineer. As a solo artist he has released three albums - Spark (2010), Fragments and Wholes Vol. 1 (2014) and Hum (2020) - and has toured Europe regularly, including multiple visits to the Netherlands.
On 14 and 16 November 2025, Alain Johannes played exclusive shows in the Netherlands on the occasion of the vinyl release of his 2 Meter Sessions recordings.
On 14 November 2025, 'Live on 2 Meter Sessions' was released on vinyl, featuring recordings of Eleven, solo work and collaborations with the Dutch band Iron Jinn.
Johannes toured through Europe in 2025 as part of his acoustic tour, with performances in places including Zwolle and Hoofddorp.
Johannes collaborated on the single 'Outside Again' with Barrett Martin, Peter Buck and Duke Garwood, released in 2025.
In 2026, Johannes tours as part of the project Drink the Sea - a collaboration with Barrett Martin, Peter Buck and Duke Garwood - through the United States.
