Ænima is a Belgian Tool tribute band founded in August 2015 by drummer Joris Rombaut and guitarist Jay Van den Berghe. The four-piece operates without a designated frontman - all members share that role - and pairs two-hour sets with custom and official Tool visuals. Having played festivals such as Paaspop and Fonnefeesten as well as club venues in the Netherlands, Ænima bills itself as Belgium's only Tool tribute act and Europe's number one.
Ænima performed on 4 August 2026 at Fonnefeesten in Lokeren, as part of the club tour 'Ænima Plays Ænima' in honour of the 30th anniversary of the Tool album Ænima.
The show 'Ænima Plays Ænima' on 19 February 2026 at Concertzaal De Casino in Sint-Niklaas was reviewed by Rock Tribune with the words: "go see that and honour your local heroes".
The try-out show on 13 February 2026 at De Kelk in Brugge was sold out.
Ænima celebrates in 2026-2027 the 30th anniversary of the Tool album Ænima with the club tour 'Ænima Plays Ænima', where the album is performed live in full.
A Dutch date is scheduled for April 2027 as part of the 'Ænima Plays Ænima' tour.
