Vengeance - Sebbe Poll

In the bimonthly Stepping Stone series, new theatre makers present their work. This edition features Vengeance by Sebbe Poll, from 19:30 to 21:15. The performance is in Dutch.

Pop artist Donna returns to the theatre where she once left as a victim of boundary-crossing behaviour. She wants to perform her new EP Vengeance there and draw a line under the past. That is also the plan of Freek, the new theatre director, who is determined to chart a new course. To reinforce this new reality, Donna is the first guest at Atelier ARC/k, a fresh programme for artistic experiment. A grey area unfolds in which confrontation with the past proves inevitable. Through music, humour and sharp dialogue, the performance asks questions such as: what is the role of the bystander? Who is complicit? And when do you intervene?

After the performance, there is a moderated conversation between the maker and audience about the theme, with a beer. Topics such as 'springboard', income inequality, accessibility and the importance of theatre as a necessity are discussed.
