Downtown

Amsterdam, 1986. In the nightclub Downtown, Ronnie, Lennart and Bas seem untouchable. Their friendship revolves around nights of freedom and excess, set against the backdrop of a city in motion. As the first rumours about AIDS begin to circulate, the atmosphere in their world slowly shifts. Ronnie tries cautiously to look ahead, while Lennart and Bas cling to a life that seems endless - until Bas suddenly disappears.

More than thirty years later, during the coronavirus pandemic, Ronnie sees Bas again.
