Opium Flower

Opium Flower is an international dance production by GroundBreakers Modern Dance Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Chang Dance Theatre (Taiwan), bringing together contemporary dance, Chinese aesthetics and live music in a poetic, physical narrative about identity, migration and womanhood.

The performance draws from the life stories of Asian women in Amsterdam, portraying personal memories, longing, loss and resilience. The choreography by CunSong Xu and Chang Chien-Kuei weaves Eastern movement language with contemporary dance into a layered theatrical work.
